Overview

Health Information Exchange standards

In accordance with DOH ADHIE Policy and to optimize the benefits of utilizing the Abu Dhabi Health Information Exchange (Malaffi), Department of Health (DOH) is mandating the use of certain coding standards and units of measurement to standardize the capturing of patients’ demographics and clinical data in their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) 

Additionally, the DOH is requiring a minimum data set to be captured and sent from source Electronic Medical Records and Reference Lab Information Systems to Malaffi Health Information Exchange.
All Healthcare Providers are advised to monitor this link regularly.

Standard 1 - Patient Identifier Information 

Standard 2 - Patient’s Clinical Encounter Information 

Standard 3 - Patient Allergies – Non Drug Allergies

Standard 4 - Patient Problem List/Chronic conditions 

Standard 5 - Patient Laboratory Result Information

Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine - Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT)
