H.E. Abdulla Bin Mohamed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health, Visits the Covid-19 Vaccination Centre at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital
4 Feb, 2021: H.E Abdulla Bin Mohamed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health, today visited the Covid-19 Vaccination Centre at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital. His excellency was welcomed by David Hadley, Chief Executive Officer – Mediclinic Middle East, Joe Hazel, Hospital Director at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital, Sharif Shahine, Hospital Director at Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital and members of the hospital management.
During his visit, H.E. was briefed on the work progress at the centre that was established as part of the hospital’s new expansion. H.E. praised the excellent organisation of the centre and the efforts made to ensure the provision of services according to the highest standards and patients’ satisfaction. H.E mentioned the integration of efforts between the public and private healthcare sectors, which contributed to showcasing an outstanding global performance in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the visit, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, Manager of Communicable Disease Department at ADPHC explained that Abu Dhabi has 106 permanent vaccine centres and more than 30 vaccine teams who are touring around the Emirate to provide the vaccine against COVID-19 to tens of thousands of locals and UAE-based residents. The number of centers, the collective work between public and private sectors and the community will contribute to expediting the end of this pandemic and our return to a healthier and safer life.
“I call all community members to be part of this social achievement and choose to take the vaccine to protect ourselves and our loved ones. We appreciate your commitment and the level of awareness you have achieved, together we can fight this global pandemic.” Al Hosani added.
David Hadley, CEO of Mediclinic of Middle East, said, “Abu Dhabi effective management of the Covid-19 pandemic has set as an example to the rest of the world. Mediclinic has been continually striving to support in any way we can in the fight against this disease, and by setting up dedicated vaccination centres such as the one here, we feel that we are contributing to an initiative which can finally bring an end to this health crisis.”
