12 May, 2025:
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi, and CPX, a leading provider of end-to-end cyber security solutions and services, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week to advance cybersecurity and digital resilience of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector.
In the presence of H.E. Khalaf Helal Al Mazrouei, the Director General of Corporate Enablement and Community Services at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the agreement was signed by Engineer Eissa Nasser Alhammadi, Information and Cyber Security Office Director at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Hadi Anwar, Chief Executive Officer at CPX, during the annual Abu Dhabi Global Health Week. The MoU aims to establish a collaborative framework focused on enhancing cyber resilience, improving readiness through sector-wide cyber drills, and facilitating the exchange of cybersecurity knowledge and expertise. The partnership also paves the way for dedicated events and initiatives aimed at upskilling healthcare professionals and entities in cybersecurity preparedness — enabling a more proactive and coordinated approach to cybersecurity across the healthcare landscape.
Commenting on the MoU, Engineer Eissa Nasser Alhammadi, Information and Cyber Security Office Director at Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, said, “The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is committed to leading the integration of technology, knowledge and data to achieve its vision of a resilient and intelligent healthcare system. This integration demands robust cybersecurity, and through this agreement, we are taking a vital step towards protecting our healthcare ecosystem and aligning it with global best practices in cybersecurity. By working alongside specialized partners like CPX, we are reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that our healthcare ecosystem in Abu Dhabi remains secure, agile, and future-ready — strengthening its resilience while building capabilities that can respond swiftly to any emerging threats.”Technology and AI are transforming patient care, enabling faster diagnostics, smarter systems, and more personalized treatments. However, as healthcare becomes more connected, securing patient information and access become just as critical as the care itself. The collaboration further sets the stage for continued partnership, allowing both parties to align on long-term goals and adapt to the evolving cybersecurity needs of the healthcare sector.
Hadi Anwar, CEO at CPX, said, “Our collaboration with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi highlights the critical role cybersecurity plays in safeguarding patient data and ensuring seamless and timely access to care. By combining our cybersecurity expertise with DoH’s deep insight into healthcare delivery, we are creating a resilient digital ecosystem built on trust. This partnership not only raises the bar for proactive cyber defense in healthcare but also supports better patient outcomes through secure uninterrupted services.”This strategic partnership reflects both entities’ shared vision to enhance preparedness, foster knowledge exchange, and raise overall patient experience through advanced cybersecurity benchmarks across the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi.
