DoH: Medical Tourism in Abu Dhabi A Goal on the Road to Reality

16 Jul, 2018: All Health Providers are Partners to achieve this Goal

Abu Dhabi – July 17, 2018: In another step on the road to promoting medical tourism in Abu Dhabi and part of its efforts to promote and enhance the standards of quality of care in the Emirate, Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DOH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, urged all healthcare providers in Abu Dhabi to document medical tourism patients records using DoH’s ‘Shafafiya’ e-portal, effective as of September 2018.

TDr. Asma Al Mannaei, Director of Healthcare Quality Division said: “The new protocol is in line with our commitment to providing premium quality of healthcare services for patients in Abu Dhabi and positioning Abu Dhabi as a leading hub for medical tourism. With a solid healthcare infrastructure, cutting-edge technology and qualified health professionals, Abu Dhabi is already becoming an attractive medical tourism destination choice for patients from all across the world.”

The portal will ease the record of all medical tourism patients’ medical information including diagnosis, clinical signs, year of initial diagnosis and presence on admission regardless of their insurance coverage.
